I’M Julie

born and raised in Germany but currently a small-town Alabama girl. I’m a holistic health coach and gut-health expert that did years of research on how to recover from various symptoms. An educator with dreams!

Obsessed with: sushi & traveling. I've been keepin' it real since 1987.

One of my absolute dreams: swimming with dolphins & traveling the world in a van.

BUT - I was not always that

healthy…

In fact, I was sick for many years of my life.

Let’s start at the beginning. During my mid-twenties, when I lived in Greenville, SC for 6 months, I was prescribed 4 consecutive weeks of antibiotics (reason for this was a bad flu and resulting sinuses infections) along with a round of steroids. At the same time, I also received the necessary 💉 for an upcoming trip to Ecuador. Combine this with an extremely low carb diet, and my body shut down, causing me to develop histamine and polyols intolerances.

After my trip to USA and Ecuador, I was home in Germany trying to adjust to my new health limitations, when I landed my dream job in the US. I was thrilled! Even with my new health complications, I couldn’t wait to follow my dream.

BUT - that dream turned into a ladder-climbing

nightmare…

 

The men ruled, toxic work environment that put severe stress and pressure on me (electrical engineer in the automotive industry - yeah, no idea how I got myself into that) eventually caused a further decline in my health resulting in adrenal fatigue, early signs of diabetes and constant low energy (I took naps throughout the day in random spots - hence the picture on top ;). Combine this with an emotional break up (narcissist vibes), and it seemed like I was losing control of my life and my well-being.

(Talking about symptoms - I debated if I should write them all out here - but you know what - let’s just name them!)

My symptoms

  • severe night sweats (where I would wake up completely drained in sweat)

  • severe migraines where I couldn’t get to work

  • hot feet esp. at night (might sound funny, but is actually really uncomfortable)

  • shivers throughout the day

  • flu-like symptoms (esp. when I had high histamine foods)

  • restless leg syndrome (esp. at night / when trying to sleep in)

  • severe fatigue attacks throughout the day (sometimes it was dangerous to drive home from work - to prevent me from sleeping in I would get on a call with friends or turn the music so loud it was hurting my ears)

  • terrible difficulty to get out of bed in the morning

  • severe resistance to any kind of work-out (to the point i would get anxiety and breathing difficulties when I started to work out)

  • acute hearing loss and tinnitus

  • hives and rashes on the skin with certain foods

  • no tolerance of high heat or high cold

  • severe mood swings and aggressive behavior

  • estrogen dominance

I could go on with this list for much longer, but you get the idea.

I knew I couldn’t go on like this - I was too young to wake up exhausted - and feeling like being hit by a truck - every day. I needed a break and a major change.

 

So I quit my job and turned my life

upside down…

 

I became obsessed with research, studies, biohacking, health and our bodily functions and one of my first steps was starting to become a certified health coach with Institute for Integrative Nutrition. I wanted to know what exactly was happening inside and with my body and why I was having all these symptoms.

My next step into direction of healing was switching to a high raw vegan diet, to overflow my body with nutrients, support my organs, as well as stabilize blood sugar. I did this overnight, a few days after quitting my job.

But that was not the only part of the puzzle. I found my way through endless information online, had sessions over sessions with health coaches and functional medicine doctors and found people over people that wanted to sell me that ONE pill to cure me.

But guess what!

 

There is no

one pill!

 

But there is certain ways that can help your body do a better job, which is (simply said) healing. I found a way to help my body heal and detox from years of stress, junk food (aka SAD = standard american diet), chemical prescriptions and toxic household and beauty products. I gave my main detoxification organs the love they needed with the help of herbs, organic food and a big pinch of nature and therefore supported my whole body to get back to balance naturally.

I soon understood that we actually just have to support our bodies, since they will always try and get back into balance - it’s their default setting.

But - having tackled food and detox organs was not enough for me - and is not for most people. There is also mental healing needed. There is trauma, limiting beliefs and the power of the subconscious mind. What is eventually needed in most cases is reprogramming the subconscious mind.
I got obsessed with all things meditation, theta healing, faster EFT and even hypnosis (just to name a few) to reprogram my limiting beliefs and patterns. I love the way certain experts in this field (like Dr. Joe Dispenza or Dr. Bruce Lipton) explain how our mind, esp. our subconscious works and how it can even happen that we live in the past (and therefore stay sick even though we don’t want to).

This 3 year healing journey led me to a healthy body, full of energy and full of potential.

And all this leads me to where I am now…
