BULLS - Our Detox Systems and why you should care!
You might have never heard about this, but BULLS is short for our detox organs. These are:
π Bowels / digestive system
π Urinary system
π Lymph system
π Lungs / respiratory system
π Skin
I love this short cut and I refer to it all the time. Keep in mind that this is just an overview about our detox systems and I cut it very short here, just to give you an overview. Each part and detox system should actually have its own whole blog post. :) Because our bodies are miracles!! Ok, letβs dive right into it!
Bowels / digestive system:
Our bowels are one of the most important systems in our body. Not only do we digest food to make sugar out of it and eventually energy, but we also detox all the things that we don't need and want in our body. Liver, gallbladder, spleen, pancreas, small intestines, large intestines, stomach, mouth, esophagus and salivary glands belong all to the digestive system.
Your gastrointestinal tract (stomach to anus) is the βhubβ of your body. When it fails to do its job because of impactions and inflammation, this can weaken and starve the body. When the GI tract fails, the rest of the body will soon follow. The following are just some of the side effects of its failure:
Malabsorption and starvation
Gastritis, enteritis and/or colitis
Diverticulitis (when βpocketsβ are formed from impactions) Gas
Diarrhea
Constipation (also connected to adrenal medulla weakness)
Parasites (worms, and others; the unfriendly type)
Crohnβs disease
GI cancer (now second most prevalent type of cancer in the U.S.)
When the GI Tract becomes toxic, it sends toxicity to all parts of the bodyAppendicitis
Lymphatic congestion (blocks proper lymphatic elimination)
Nausea upon eating
Liver, gallbladder and pancreas have their own set of symptoms they show, when they are toxic or under-active.
Urinary system:
Our urinary systems help the body to get rid of liquid waste and also helps to keep chemicals (such as potassium and sodium) and water in balance. Our urinary system consists of two kidneys, two ureters (carry urine from the kidneys to the bladder), two sphincter muscles, the bladder, and the urethra (tube that allows urine to pass outside the body). I have talked a lot about the kidneys on instagram already, but your kidneys get all the metabolic waist from the body and help eliminate it.
As you can see, the kidneys are a part of your elimination system. They form urine from blood plasma. They play a major role in the regulation of your blood, and thus all bodily fluids. They help eliminate your metabolic and toxic wastes.
Kidneys are very sensitive to acidosis from meats, teas, coffees, chocolates and carbonated soda drinks. Most people consume these types of βfoodsβ (toxins) that, after a while, yield them discomfort and pain in the mid- to lower back.
The following are side effects or warning signals that your body experiences when the kidneys and bladder become weak.
Bags under your eyes
Vision problems
Lower back weakness and pain
Kidney stones (contributing factor to parathyroid weakness) Urinary tract infectionsβUTI (burning upon urination) Loss of bladder control (incontinence)
Difficulty urinating (can be urinary tract infections as well) Increased acidosis
Dehydration
Edema (contributing factor)
Toxemia
Headaches
Can affect your breathing
Lymph system:
A network of tissues, vessels and organs that work together to move a colorless, watery fluid called lymph back into your circulatory system (your bloodstream). It maintains fluid levels in your body, absorbs fats from the digestive tract, it protects your body against foreign invaders, and transports and removes waste products and abnormal cells from the lymph. It protects your body against foreign invaders - in fact it is part of the immune system. It produces and releases lymphocytes (white blood cells) and other immune cells that monitor and then destroy the foreign invaders β such as bacteria, viruses, parasites and fungi, that enter the body. It also transports and removes waste products and abnormal cells from the lymph. Our lymph system consists of lymph, lymph nodes, lymphatic vessels and collecting ducts. Check out my post in Instagram about the lymph system!
The job of the lymphatic system is to clean and protect the body. This system is just as important as the blood system. The lymphatic system is the most neglected and needs the most attention. All diseases begin when this system becomes overburdened and fails. The following are just some of the noticeable effects:
Colds and flu-like symptoms
Many childhood diseases (mumps, measles, etc.)
Most respiratory congestive issues
Sinus congestion
Earaches
Hearing loss (causing the need for tubes in the ears)
Sore throats
Cysts and tumors
Boils, pimples and the like
Lymphatic cancers
Appendicitis
Low immune response
Low lymphocytes (when the lymph gland called the spleen is affected) Low platelets and a lack of blood cleansing can take place.
Lymph edema from removed or degenerated lymph nodes
Lymph node swelling
Allergies
Cellulitis
Blurred vision
Cataracts and glaucoma
Snoring
Sleep apnea
Tonsillitis
Stiff neck
Cervical spine deterioration from stagnant lymph system in neck (especially when tonsils have been removed)
Dandruff
Lungs / respiratory system:
The lungs work with the circulatory system to pump oxygen-rich blood to all cells in the body. The blood then collects carbon dioxide and other waste products and transports them back to the lungs, where they're pumped out of the body when we exhale. What I think is really cool too - the bronchial cubes form mucus - a sticky fluid that collects dust, germs and other matter that has invaded the lungs and is what we expel when we sneeze and cough. When I go for a run for example, sometimes in the end my body excretes so much mucus via the nose, that I have to run into the apt to get a tissue, haha. This is because we inhale toxins from the air (e. g. exhaust gasses from cars) and the body simply wants to get rid of these. I love my body for this for sure!!
Skin:
Your skin is the largest organ of the body. It is also the largest eliminative organ, eliminating as much bodily wastes each day as your kidneys, bowels and lungs. Your skin has many functions, including the regulation of body temperature. Always clean out the liver to clean the skin.
When the liver, bowels and lymphatic system is backed up, this overburdens the skin and it becomes sluggish and impacted. This causes many of the skin conditions that exist. On top of this, when the thyroid is weak it becomes more difficult to sweat. This inhibits proper elimination through the skin even more. A breakdown of the skinβs normal functions will result in:
Skin rashes
Dry skin
Eczema
Boils, pimples, etc. (related to lymphatic system) Dermatitis
Psoriasis
Splitting of the skin
As you can see, our detox systems are pretty complex and it is good to know where you have to start digging to get to know your body better. What is also very interesting, in my opinion, is that many symptoms listed above do also appear with histamine intolerance. That is why the KEY for eliminating this disease (basically all disease) is to work on your detox organs, eat a diet high in raw food to get your lymph, bowels and kidneys moving and to flood your body with nutrients! Like this, your body can finally recover, eliminate all the stored toxins and start
healing!
